The contract has seen the Mold-based fire and security specialist design a bespoke system to keep the telephone answering company’s new high-tech office secure.
Moneypenny has invested heavily in a creative new building to rival tech giants Apple and Google, and wanted a high-quality fire and security system to keep it safe.
As part of the contract, worth more than £40,000, Jackson Fire & Security will install a new fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control and CCTV system, as well as disability alarm facilities.
The intelligent system can tell the difference between a real fire and common causes of false alarms, and is designed to be as minimally visible as possible.
Jackson Fire & Security’s Rob Jones, who is managing the installation of the systems, said: “Moneypenny has created an incredible office, and we had to put together a system that suited its surroundings.
“The first designs asked for an aspirating system to be included – but this would have involved lots of ugly red pipes spanning the wooden ceiling, which would have completely destroyed the aesthetics of the dreamland office.
“Instead, we’ve designed a system that uses linear beam detectors, which are less visually obtrusive and easy to maintain.
“The development also has a built-in village pub and restaurant, which are areas that traditionally cause problems for fire and smoke alarm systems. The heat, steam and smoke that come from areas like this traditionally cause false alarms in unsophisticated alarm systems.
“Throughout the site we’re using a Siemens alarm system which can tell the difference between a real fire and common causes of false alarms.”
The contract also includes the installation of an intercom system at a refuge area, which provides shelter for anyone with a disability to use incase of a fire.
Work is currently underway to fit the system, with the project due to be finished in mid-March.
The Moneypenny office system is the latest Jackson Fire & Security has fitted in North Wales. Other recent projects include fire and security systems at Edge Transport in Deeside, Coleg Cambria’s four North Wales campuses, and the Kingspan warehouse in Holywell.
The work is being carried out as part of a contract awarded to Carter Electrical Services to carry out electrical work at the new office.
