Cookpad exchanges contracts with RLAM at Silversmiths development in Bristol

FOOD tech company Cookpad has exchanged contracts with Royal London Asset Management (RLAM) to take sole occupancy of 7,338 sq ft at Silversmiths in Bristol.

Cookpad is Japan’s largest recipe sharing service which allows visitors to upload and search through original, user-created recipes.

Silversmiths will be Cookpad’s first UK office where they will occupy the ground and two upper floors on a 10-year lease.

The lease was secured following complete refurbishment and fit out by RLAM of the building on Broad Plain and significant interest from other potential occupiers.

The food tech company was attracted to the flexible accommodation on offer at Silversmith’s, part of RLAM’s development plans for Glassfields, a mixed-use development in Bristol city centre.

Gareth Dickinson, Head of Property at RLAM, said: “We are delighted to secure a single occupier for the building so soon after practical completion of the refurbishment programme.

“Silversmiths has proved to be a hugely popular location and will form part of the wider development of Glassfields, where it is our vision to create an innovative mixed-used scheme of the highest quality unlike anything seen elsewhere in Bristol.”

Glassfields forms a gateway to Bristol’s Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone and is a major mixed-use development which will provide outstanding business accommodation set around a new urban space.

Located within the city core, overlooking Temple Way, Glassfields is a short walk from Bristol Temple Meads railway station.

Steve Lane, Associate Director at JLL, said: “Securing the lease at this stage justifies RLAM’s commitment to undertake the refurbishment of this kind in the city to provide high quality and adaptable space to the Bristol office market.”

Martin Booth, Partner at Knight Frank, added: “The early success of Silversmiths prompted RLAM to drive ahead with their investment plans in Bristol.

“They are now speculatively undertaking the refurbishment and remodelling of neighbouring Goldsmiths, which is nearing completion. Interest in Goldsmiths is high and early indications are that this office space will be snapped up.”

JLL and Knight Frank are the letting agents for Silversmiths and the wider Glassfields development, which includes neighbouring Goldsmiths.

The 10,598 sq ft Goldsmiths building, which has office accommodation available ranging in size from 1,707 sq ft to 11,370 sq ft, is currently undergoing refurbishment and is due for completion at the end of July.
