HOSTED BY NATIONAL MUSEUMS LIVERPOOL CELEBRATES ACTION-PACKED YEAR WITH RECORD FILMING PROJECTS

Hosted by National Museums Liverpool is shining a spotlight on its location film work as the number of projects doubles in the the last year.

With a number of museum and art gallery venues in the city, the team at Hosted by National Museums Liverpool has worked alongside broadcasters such as BBC, Sky One and E4, offering a unique setting for some of the nation’s most recognisable television series’ and dramas.

Following an increase in filming projects, Hosted by National Museums Liverpool has seen revenue soar by 70% in this area, utilising locations such as County Sessions House, Walker Art Gallery, World Museum and Museum of Liverpool.

Head of Events at Hosted by National Museums Liverpool Katie Roberts said: “This year, following our rebrand, we have positioned ourselves as a leading film location in the North West and have continued to attract a number of high-profile projects commissioned by industry leaders such as the BBC across a breadth of subjects and formats, from talk shows and dramas to reality TV.

“It’s fantastic to see Liverpool’s reputation as a filming destination grow over the last few years and we are delighted to be a part of this, with the industry contributing so much to the local economy. Hosted by National Museums Liverpool is excited to announce an increase in demand for filming projects as people consider the region as a serious contender for film shoots. The North West’s rich heritage is captured perfectly by our diverse portfolio of venues, which are historically iconic as well as versatile when it comes to providing a backdrop with a difference.”

National Museums Liverpool has been featured in the likes of BBC’s ‘War of the Worlds’, ‘The Andrew Marr Show’ and ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’, as well as Sky One drama ‘Bulletproof’.

Katie added: “This has been our busiest year to date in terms of filming projects at National Museums Liverpool and we already have some exciting ventures planned for the months and years ahead.

“It has been fantastic to work so closely alongside Liverpool Film Office which has provided an invaluable service that has helped propel our venues in to the limelight. Its work to promote this city as a filming destination has been incredible and will continue to see the region thrive as we head in to 2019.”
