New European role as Statiflo gears up for Brexit

"There are fantastic opportunities for growth across a range of industries"
Axel Schmidt

Engineering company Statiflo has appointed a dedicated European sales manager as it gears up for life after Brexit.

Statiflo, which is based in Macclesfield and has subsidiaries in Germany and the United States, has recruited Axel Schmidt to spearhead growth on the continent as Britain prepares to leave the EU.

Axel, aged 46, has joined Statiflo from Pentair, where he was sales manager for northern and central Europe.

Statiflo’s sales director Ron Russ said: “Axel has a tremendous record in sales and an excellent engineering background, with experience of working in a number of the industries that we supply.

“He will play a key role as we bolster our European business in the run-up to Brexit, by focusing on developing our position in the German market and other European countries, by recruiting new business partners and by targeting sectors where we see strong expansion opportunities.”

Statiflo is a world leader in the design and distribution of static mixers and other chemical process equipment. It supplies the water and wastewater treatment industries, oil and gas, petrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper sectors.

The company, which has annual revenues of over £5m, currently exports to 14 European countries through its network of business partners who distribute its products and provide advice and support to customers.

Axel, pictured, who is based in Frankfurt, said: “I’m delighted to join Statiflo and lead its European sales operations. There are fantastic opportunities for growth across a range of industries.”
