RTC North's momentous July after awards wins

Daresbury's RTC North celebrates a big July in build up to 30th anniversary

One of the most successful funded business support companies in the North of England is celebrating one of its best sets of results this month including multiple-winning clients at the Merseyside Innovation Awards.

Daresbury-based RTC North supported an impressive list of clients including 5D Health Protection, Oblige Global and Blinx through the Innovate2Succeed programme.

All three clients managed to scoop prizes earlier this month at the Merseyside Innovation Awards. with RTC North’s Georgia Riley commenting:

“July has been a momentous month for the business. We help clients innovate, compete and grow and the achievements, in particular, of our three clients at the Merseyside Innovation Awards are testament to the work that we do, namely the commercialisation of new products and services, working with individuals, businesses and the public sector to help create more innovative and vibrant economies.

“Next year is our 30th anniversary too so this is a great accolade to add to our record over three decades. It also demonstrates the value of initiatives like ‘Innovate 2 Succeed’, a business support programme funded by Innovate UK, for which we are the lead delivery partner. It’s designed to help SMEs improve their capacity to innovate and capability to commercially exploit new ideas and that’s exactly what it’s done.”

RTC North has also recently helped Liverpool-based 5D Health Protection Group (a multi award-winning contract research organisation and centre of excellence in biofilm and microbiology testing) to secure £1m in funding from UK sources to progress its anti-viral technology solution.

In addition, RTC North assisted Blinx, a business intelligence app which unifies and correlates companies’ data on one platform. They were given guidance & support by RTC North for an Innovate UK grant application which has just been submitted.

Oblige Global, who seek to transform the lives of individuals with disabilities, through innovation and smart technologies won a £2,500 cash prize as finalists in the awards. RTC North has been assisting them with their IP strategy, how to go about protecting their intellectual property along with advice on Best practice when it comes to IP.

Georgia added: “RTC North will continue to work with all 3 companies and we’re really look forward to being part of their future success."

"Next year is our 30th anniversary too so this is a great accolade to add to our record over three decades. It also demonstrates the value of initiatives like Innovate 2 Succeed.' "
