IT Lab Unveiled as New McLaren Technology Centre Partner

""

IT Lab has signed a multi-year partnership with McLaren to provide technology support services to over 3,000 employees, who are based largely at the world-famous McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) campus that is home to the grand prix racing team, sports and supercar production and Applied Technologies businesses.

IT Lab will provide comprehensive round the clock, seven days a week information technology (IT) support services to all McLaren employees, including those based in key overseas markets such as the US and Singapore, and who are vital to McLaren’s growing international operations.

The partnership with McLaren confirms IT Lab's ambitious growth plans following its recent acquisition of Manchester based IT provider JMC IT, that has helped expand its technical offering and portfolio of small to medium sized clients.

IT Lab already answers 98 per cent of inbound service calls made by McLaren employees in under 10 seconds.

In addition, IT Lab also successfully resolves 97 per cent of all McLaren’s first line service desk calls without needing to escalate to second or third line teams, meaning a streamlined and efficient operation that supports optimal day-to-day business functions.

Many current and prospective IT Lab clients will be able to experience and find out more about the McLaren partnership at an exclusive event to be held this summer at the MTC. More details are expected to be released later this spring.

Craig Charlton, Chief Information Officer for McLaren, said: "Having already worked closely with IT Lab, it’s clear that they share with McLaren a strong commitment to optimising performance.

“IT Lab understands that for a technology company like McLaren that has thousands of employees engaged on mission-critical operations, where time and agility are essential wherever people are in the world, the delivery of IT support for the business has to be seamless and efficient.”

Peter Sweetbaum, Chief Executive Officer for IT Lab, said: “We understand and respect the exacting standards and expectations of a high performance organisation such as McLaren. We are extremely proud that our team has more than met these expectations, culminating in this formal partnership.

“Technology now plays a role in every organisation, few more centrally than McLaren. Our mission is to ensure that every McLaren employee receives the very highest quality support, wherever they are and whenever they need it.”
